How to Write Down What You Want to Manifest

how to write down what you want to manifest

Learning how to write down what you want to manifest is about learning how to get very clear on exactly what you do want, letting go of what you don’t want and focussing intensely on your intention through writing.

Writing down what you want most in life and what you want to manifest places you in the upper 5% of people on this planet.

Most people’s strategy for the future is to simply hope for the best.

Consciously creating your life, deciding what you do want and then committing to making it real is your true power in life.

It is not only within your reach but it is your God given privilege to create your life.

The cliches are true.

You can be, do or have anything but all is not what it seems.

It is not through hard work, drudgery, suffering or endless failure that you get to fulfill this bold promise.

It is through intention and understanding that you do not manifest your weak and idle desires. You manifest your clear intention, your dominant thoughts and the images you hold of your future self.

The Power Of Writing Down What You Want To Manifest

When it comes to manifesting, writing down what you desire and want to create in your life is the first step of ‘creation’.

Taking an idea that is undefined and swirling around in your head and ‘pinning it down’ on paper makes it real. It gets concrete reality when you fix it with ink on paper.

Now you can look at it. You can read it, understand it and most of all you can start to visualize it.

When it is only an idea or a dream there are too many loose ends for your mind to form a clear and fixed image.

To write down what you want to manifest is often much harder than it seems. Taking the time and making the effort to really sit down and do it seems to be the hardest thing for most people.

I was there too.

For years I would read books that would prompt me to do it but like most people I just kept on putting it off – thinking that ‘I know what I want’.

If it is not written down on a piece of paper. If you are not 100% clear on exactly what you want and if you haven’t defined clearly what you want to manifest then it most likely will never happen.

Sitting down, deciding on what you want to manifest and giving birth to your desire on a piece of paper is ‘hard work’. The commitment to a single idea often scares people and this fear is the main reason why so many people never do it.

In Earl Nightingale’s book The Strangest Secret which was one of the first ‘commercial’ law of attraction books, he shares a very simple strategy for manifesting anything:

  1. Write down exactly what you want to manifest on a card.
  2. Carry that card with you and read it 3 times a day
  3. Include the Sermon on The Mount on the card and read that as well – Seek and you shall find. Ask and it will be given.

This formula has been credited as the secret to success for many super successful people from that era.

The idea of creation and intention, writing it down and building the image into your subconscious mind is a simple process and it is the fundamentals of manifesting.

3 Steps To Write Down What You Want To Manifest

Writing down what you want to manifest is often harder than it sounds. We all have an idea of what we want but when it comes to pinning down the details we can easily get lost, get scared or fear the commitment to that idea.

The 3 step process below will be very freeing and help you find out exactly what you want, write is down in a clear and powerful way and help you build the image that will (and must) eventually manifest in your reality.

Step #1: Write Down What You Do NOT Want

Starting with what you do not want may seem counterproductive but knowing what you don’t want often helps you get clear on what you DO want.

The contrast help you gain clarity and also serves one very important purpose. It helps you understand what you should not be focussed on.

Most people are in an endless loop of manifesting what they do not want because their focus remains on that.

Sit down and write down everything you do not want in your life. If it is one specific area of your life like relationships, or finance then get clear and write out everything you no longer want to settle for.

You need to keep writing and completely immerse yourself in this. Spend at least 30 minutes doing this and drill down in great detail.

Step #2: Create a Manifestation List

Now that you know what you do not want (from step 1) you have a much better sense of what you really want.

In step #2 you have to dream big and write down everything that your heart could possibly desire.

This exercise is to help free your mind.

The idea is to write down everything that you want to manifest without any limitations, without any consideration of whether you can or can’t and without being realistic in any way shape or form.

Just keep writing. Write for at least 30 minutes and make a ‘bucket list’ and imagine you have The Genie who will grant your every wish and desire.

Step #3: Focus Your Attention Daily

From step 1 and step 2 you now have 2 long lists – one of what you do not want and one of everything that you do want.

Set this aside for the next day and then come back to your list from step #2.

Read through it once and let the ideas settle in a bit. Now, take out your journal and on a new page pick out everything from step 2 that is the most important to you and create a new ‘refined list.

The idea is to identify 2 or 3 things that you really, really, really want.

These 2 or 3 ideas can now become your intentions. You are clear about what you do not want, you are clear about what you do want and now you set your mind on manifesting that and you commit to making that real in your life.

Turning these intentions into a daily practice of focus and deliberate creation is the real secret to manifesting.

Knowing what you want and writing it down is really powerful but only when your mind, your thoughts and your emotions are focussed on the outcome on a consistent basis can you really tap into the power of the law of attraction.

There are 3 powerful ways to write down what you want to manifest and I’ve learned this from 3 great teachers.

Doing this daily as soon as you wake up and as soon as you go to bed is a powerful strategy that absolutely works.

1. I Am so happy and grateful now that…

I learned this from Bob Proctor and when you write down “I am so happy and grateful now that…” and you complete the sentence with exactly what you want to manifest – the exact end result.

When you are ‘happy’ when you imagine your end result you raise your vibration. When you are grateful you ‘assume’ its already done.

The combination of these two elements are really powerful.

2. Isn’t it wonderful now that…

This is a technique that I learned from the great Neville Goddard and you simply write down “Isn’t it wonderful now that…” and you complete the statement with your intention of what you want to manifest.

One of Neville’s main teachings is that you have to imagine your desired result already ful;filled for the law of attraction to work.

When you say Isn’t it wonderful now that… then you assume that its already done. This forces your mind to see yourself already having it and by building this image it starts to manifest.

3. What would my life look like…

Dr. Joe Dispenza is undoubtedly one of the leading thinkers of our time and he has brought a lot of scientific evidence to the metaphysical ideas behind manifestation.

A simple but powerful exercise that he shares is to wake up in the morning and simply ask yourself “What would my life look like when…” and you complete the statement with what your life will look like, feel like and be like once your intention is manifested.

This idea instantly shifts your thinking away from your current life and all the problems we tend to wake up to.

Learning how to write down what you want to manifest is the act of creating your reality even before it is experienced as reality.

3 Powerful Writing Exercises To Help You Manifest Faster

There are a number of law of attraction writing exercises that can help you stay focussed, and to approach your manifesting in a more methodical way.

Days, weeks and months can easily slip away. Having a daily practise that you commit to is one way to ensure you do something everyday to move you towards the life you desire.

I’ve written extensively about the 3 technique below but I will briefly mention them for reference.

1. The Scripting Technique

The scripting technique is a law of attraction writing exercise that is effective you journaling as if you are already living in your future reality.

You write the script of your future in your present reality.

This is a page straight from Neville Goddard’s teachings and is one of the most powerful techniques for manifesting.

2. The 55×5 Manifestation Method

The 55×5 manifesting method is a writing exercise where you write your intention as an affirmation 55 times for 5 days.

The idea is to completely immerse yourself in one idea for 5 days and then to relax and let go. You ‘forget about it’ for 2 or 3 days and then start again until your intention manifests.

This is a powerful technique if you have a lot of limiting beliefs holding you back.

3. The 3-6-9 Manifestation Technique

The 3-6-9 manifestation technique is based on Nikola Tesla’s ‘Divine Numbers’ and this writing exercise used the number sequence for you to write down and focus on your intentions.

You will set aside 3 blocks of time throughout the day and write your intention out 3 times in the morning when you wake up, 6 times in the afternoon and 9 times just before falling asleep.
