The 3 Steps Of Manifestation – How To Manifest What You Desire

3 steps of manifestation

The 3 steps of manifestation are having an intention, focusing your attention on that and finally, allowing what you want to come into your life.

While the 3 steps of manifestation are quite simple to understand, putting it into practice can be quite challenging.

It seems like the hardest thing in life is not knowing what to do but actually doing it.

The reason for this is simple…

If I told you that you need to do the exact same thing every day for 60 days to get anything you want, would you? I bet you would.

What if I told you that for 59 days out of the 60 you will see no results or no evidence of what you want starting to show up. Would you still do it? Would you still do it every day with the same energy and enthusiasm as day 1?

This is exactly where the challenges with the law of attraction come in. Most people “try it” for a week or two and then start complaining that the law of attraction is not working for them.

The promise of the law of attraction and manifesting is that you can attract anything you want into your life. This is a bold promise and something that excites most people – at first.

The reality is that you need to give an immense amount of energy to an idea for it to manifest in your life.

The way you give your energy to an idea is through your mental focus, your physical actions, and how you spend your physical resources in your life.

Always remember the golden rule and that is that everything is energy and energy is everything.

What Is Manifestation Anyway?

Manifestation simply means to make something real. It is the process of giving an idea or a dream a physical presence.

Bringing something from the world of thoughts (invisible) into the world of concrete and tangible reality (visible) is something that humankind has been fascinated with since the beginning of time.

The idea of magic and miracles often revolve around this idea of manifesting things – seemingly out of thin air.

Modern physics now gives us a much greater insight into this through quantum physics. The ideas of quantum physics closely relate to what teachers throughout the centuries have pustulated about the law of attraction.

What it comes down to is that everything that is visible, comes from the invisible.

Everything that you have in and around your life today was once just a thought. A car was once just a crazy thought. A carriage with no horses? How will it move?

The idea soon evolved and today we don’t even think twice about the miracles we see around us all the time.

Thoughts are things. Just because you can not perceive it through your sense does not make it any more or any less of a thing.

The process of manifestation then is to take an idea or a dream or anything from the realm of the invisible and make it real, tangible, and part of your physical experience as a human being.

The 3 Steps of Manifestation & Getting Anything You Want

While there are many aspects to it, there are only really 3 steps of manifestation.

  • Step #1: Intention
  • Step #2: Focused Energy and Attention
  • Step # 3: Allowing

Understanding these 3 steps will not only help you understand manifesting better but it will help you understand why you did not manifest things you intended to manifest.

Lets look at these 3 steps of manifestation in a bit more detail:

Step #1: Intention

Many people confuse intentions with goals. I am not entirely opposed to goals and goal setting but most of the time they are merely pipe dreams and come from a place of wanting external achievements.

An intention is different. It is something that you commit your entire being to. An intention is not so much something you want to achieve as it is something you have a burning desire to experience and have in your life.

When you have an intention to manifest something in your life it is rarely something that you think will merely be “nice” to have.

It is something that you feel you HAVE to have. Your desire to have it comes not from outer pressures of achievement but from an inner desire to have it in order to express yourself and who you are in this world.

Without an intention, you can not manifest something consciously and deliberately.

To set an intention you need to focus on the following:

  • be very clear on exactly what you want
  • it’s not a moving target that changes every week
  • have a clear and vivid picture of what it would look and feel like in your everyday life
  • be able to see (imagine) and feel yourself having it in your life already
  • know the feelings and emotions that you believe it will give you
  • know WHY you really want it
  • you have it written down in great detail
  • you look at it and think about it several times a day

Having an intention is a bit like painting a picture. You work on it and build the image in your mind until you get to a point where you have great detail and can see it vividly.

Once you have created this image, you fix it in your mind on it and that then becomes the “thing” that you transform from the world of your thoughts and dreams to the world of your objective and tangible reality.

Step #2: Focused Energy and Attention

One of the biggest misconceptions about the law of attraction and manifestation is this idea that you just think of what you want and it somehow magically appear in your life.

That is not how it works.

What you place your energy and your attention on will manifest in your life because what you place your energy and your attention on will expand in your life.

Your energy and your attention allow ideas and dreams to grow “into reality”.

So how do you give your energy and your attention to your intentions? There are a number of ways and practices. These include exercises like:

  • Visualization & Vision Boards
  • Journaling
  • Affirmations
  • Matras
  • Meditation
  • Prayer

These are all law of attraction practices that have been used and practiced for centuries and decades. Through these practices, you focus your energy and your attention on what you want to manifest.

Through these practices, you create energy around a specific idea which is a big part of making it manifest.

I would visualize things coming to me. It would just make me feel better. Visualization works if you work hard. That’s the thing. You can’t just visualize and go eat a sandwich.

– Jim Carrey

While this alone can make something manifest, it rarely appears out of thin air. What actually happens is that when you start focusing your energy and your attention on an idea, the law of attraction starts attracting and moving things into your life that is in harmony with your intention.

This is where taking action and actually doing something comes in. You will need to work. You will need to take action and you need to do your part.

Step # 3: Allowing

If you’ve been studying and practicing the law of attraction then you have probably been frustrated by your intentions not manifesting.

Having a clear intention and focusing your energy and attention is not enough. This is where the last of the 3 steps of manifestation comes in.

There is a final part to manifesting and that is called allowing.

You’re not manifesting, you’re creating the environment that allows the manifestation.

– Abraham Hicks

Allowing what you want into your life is not as simple as it sounds. We all have self-made barriers that prevent what we want to come to us.

Your mind is incredibly powerful and we all have beliefs that control much of what we do – both consciously and subconsciously.

1. Change Your Limiting Beliefs

Your beliefs are those ideas that your mind uses as a blueprint to think and act in certain ways. Many of your beliefs have become very strong convictions in your mind and can be very limiting.

When you have beliefs that are contrary to what you want to manifest it can create an inner conflict.

Your beliefs can be very powerful and prevent you from doing the very things you need to do to allow what you want to manifest into your life.

Understanding what your limiting beliefs are and then changing them is an important part of manifesting.

Your beliefs can keep you thinking and acting in ways that keep you stuck where you are and prevents you from taking the actions necessary to manifest what you desire.

2. Let Go

We all have a lot of preconceived ideas about how things are “supposed to be”.One of the biggest barriers to manifesting what you want is your preconceived ideas about “how” it should come to you.

May want a greater sense of abundance and you think that the way it should come to you is by winning the lottery or landing a specific job or any of the known ways that abundance can come to you.

If you let go and allow the universe to come up with the “how” then you truly open yourself up to unlimited possibilities.

As soon as you restrict the universe to just a few small possibilities you limit so many of the creative opportunities to come to you.

When your focus and your energy is on the end result and what you want to manifest instead of the means in which it could come to you then you are open to the creative process.

The 3 Steps Of Manifestation -Summary

Manifesting always starts with an intention. When you become really clear on what you want, why you want it, and then build a crystal clear image of what you want to be, do or have in your life, then the law of attraction kicks in.

Having an intention is not enough though. You need to give your energy and your attention to this idea for it to materialize and become real.

You will also need to act. You don’t create anything in this life. You merely co-create. That means that the universe will work for you – but only if you work with it.

Finally, in the 3 steps of manifestation is to allow what you want into your life. This means that you have to let go of limiting beliefs and preconceived ideas to truly allow the creative energy of the universe to work through your life.

Manifesting truly is a magical part of life and it is available to all of us.
